Our Values That We Swear by at PurpleSlate

We created PurpleSlate with a certain set of values in mind, and we swear by our values to say the least.  We wanted to create an app that not only fostered particular behaviors and emotions on the part of the users, but we also wanted the company and our products to engender a particular set of values for employees, contractors, and partners, too.

Our first commitment for our users is :

Privacy (Most important one of Our Values)

Personal information, including mobile numbers, will never be shared, rented, or compromised. We do not accept advertising and so we do not furnish user profile information — aggregated, anonymized, or otherwise — to anyone. One of our largest features — or rather, lack of features — is that you cannot share your events or associated event content (photos, videos, etc.) on public social networks.  You cannot tweet, post to Facebook, share on Tumblr, and the like.

All data associated with PurpleSlate stays with PurpleSlate. We felt that this decision would give users more clarity and confidence in our product, serving to set the experience apart from social networks and messaging platforms which encourage users to overshare.

We believe in :

Fairness and inclusiveness

Our app is open to anyone and should not be restricted to anyone. You will also notice how we foster these values when you try our app.

While we may not be calling out all our values here, we wanted to highlight the most important ones to our readers.

In an age of fine print and ever-changing Terms of Service (TOS) — many of which change frequently and are only scrutinized by tech reporters because well, that’s their job and they need to find news.
